Our open calls for April, May and June will be on the first Wednesday of the
month,
2-4pm, as usual.  

However, in the summer, the schedule is changing as follows.

July 16 (new date)
July 30 TEEN OC
August 13 (new date)

And the times for each of these calls will be from 1-3pm.

Please let your talent know about these changes - and please encourage them to
attend open call even if they've been before, especially if we haven't seen them
for auditions in the last six months.  There are so many folks in our files that it's
not hard to lose track of even the best talents.  It's one way for them to do
rounds, and we'd love to see them!

And the Teen Open Call on July 30 is one of two times this year we'll be seeing
teens, so make sure they come if they didn't make the last one.

Partial Character Breakdown

Lynn - AA female mid to late twenties. Petite to medium build, attractive but able to play homely.
(Think of Halle Berry in "Losing Isaiah") Street smart, worldly, savvy, a little unpolished.
Candy - AA female, late teens or able to play late teens. An atypical urban female, listens to disco,
soft rock, and loves art and theatre. Comes from a close knit family in the housing projects. Smart but
sassy, quick witted and temperamental. The only girl in a family of five children.
Silky - AA male late thirties to early forties. Lynn’s older brother. Slick, smooth as silk street wise
hustler. Tall dark and good looking (Richard Rountree type). Always looking for a hustle, small time drug
dealer who dabbles in his own supply. Rough around the edges but refined in a "street" way making him
charming to the ladies in his circle.
D.I. Moore - Caucasian male late thirties to early forties, "war hero" type. Chiseled facial features,
wiry frame, almost gruff looking but neat and clean cut military style. In your face drill instructor who doesn’
t mind swearing and jumping down a Marine’s throat. Preferably with cold deep blue or grey eyes or a
menacing stare.
D.I. Riddick - Any ethnicity, late thirties, barrel chested Marine Corps "lifer." He would die a Marine
and has plans to do just that. Always telling everyone that he will never leave the Marine Corps. A little
more laid back than D.I. Moore, walks with a pimp and commands respect whenever he enters a room.
He is stern, and regimented but is the "good cop" to D.I. Moore’s "bad cop."
Commander Lee - Any ethnicity, mid fifties R.O.T.C instructor at Chris’ High School. A Navy veteran, he
is a father figure to all of the r.o.t.c cadets and they all revere and look up to him. Kind demeanor, firm,
meticulous and is a stern but fair disciplinarian.
Recruiter - Caucasian male late thirties to early forties, clean cut, wholesome looking poster boy for
Marine Corps officers. All American "apple pie" type looks, very meticulous, conservative and buttoned
up.
Ms Gerry - AA female in her fifties, next door neighbor to Chris’ family. Lives alone has never been
married, has no children an is very close to the Harris family and is considered to be like an aunt. Often
helps the family out financially and would give the shirt off of her back to a close friend without thinking
about. Loves to spend hours on end talking with Chris’ mom.
James - Caucasian male any age repeat offender, in and out of jail. Has a conversation with Chris on
the bus while they are being hauled off to prison.
Marine friend - Any ethnicity early twenties
Parole Board official - Any gender any ethnicity late thirties,
stuffy, snoody, ultra conservative.
Judge - Caucasian male imposing looks, late fifties, has a stern efficient demeanor. Known as a
liberal judge who always leans towards second chances, but will not hesitate to throw away the key for
repeat offenders.

                             PODCAST AUDITION
We Got Issues" in conjunction with Urban Anime is casting for a podcast drama. The
series is set to launch in August 2008.
This is a no/lo/deferred project.
Currently, our casting needs are as follows;
Jessica
18ish female, any ethnicity
Diva-ish. Loves shopping and shoes.
Dahlia's father
White male, blonde 40 something.
Grounded. Working class stiff.
Dahlia's mother
White female, blonde, 40 something.
Girlish smile, and overprotective.
Chris's father
White male, dark haired, 40 something.
White collar, conservative.
Carter's mother
White female, dark haired, 40 something.
Liberal. Creative type.
This casting call covers additional actors needed to complete first season and to begin
plans for the second season.

My Fair Lady in the fall.  The roles are:

Charles - male, 20's, Tenor II or Baritone with a top.  
Needs strong dance training, Stanadard Musical Theatre styles (Jazz, tap, modern)

Mrs. Hopkins, Maid 1 - female, late 20's, 30's - Soprano II, pref. Soprano I.
Very strong dance training/background.

Rehearsals begin the 26th of August and the run ends on October 5th.

The story of David is an independent film that I, Jasmine Deanne Andrews, will direct.  I have secured locations in
southern Chesapeake where there are open fields, and woods to simulate a biblical atmosphere.  The film with tell the
story of David the king of Israel starting with his famous battle with Goliath, to being a fugitive on the run from Saul, his
various relationships, becoming king of Israel, and his troubles within his family as a result of his adulterous affair with
Bathsheba and the murder of her husband Uriah.  
I am looking for a cast of volunteer actors and actresses who will fill the roles of the various characters in the story.  The
script will be based on the bible.  To prepare and familiarize yourself with the story study 1 Samuel chapter 16 to the end
of the book, and the entire book of 2 Samuel.  Auditions will be held at 1928 Land of Promise Rd, Chesapeake, VA,
23322.  
Monday June 23 - Thursday June 26.  Contact me through email to set up an appointment for your audition.

MAJOR CHARACTERS
David – Confident but humble.  Strong. Needs an actor who is lean and fit, young, able to devote a lot of time and effort
into this project.  
Saul – double minded.  Represents someone who has admirable qualities, but took a fall from grace.  Needs and actor
who is very tall, age thirty and up.  
Abner – militant captain, actor of any type will due
Michal – David’s love interest, young beautiful actress.
Jonathan – David’s friend, young actor.  
Goliath – Overconfident warrior.  Very tall and larger actor required.
Joab – David’s Captain, loyal, but flawed.  Very masculine warlike actor needed.
Doeg the Edomite – Villainous and bloodthirsty.  Warlike actor need, any age range.
Ishbosheth – king opposite to David.  Actor needed who is older.
Nathan the prophet – respectful and kind, but afraid to speak up. Actor of any age range.
Abigail – David’s wife, young beautiful actress needed
Ahinoam – David’s wife, young beautiful actress needed
Absalom – David’s arrogant son, actor needed who is young, tall, good looking, and confident
Amnon – David’s son, actor needed who is young and troubled emotionally
Tamar – David’s daughter, young beautiful actress needed.
Solomon – David’s son who becomes king after him, actor needed who is young and good looking, and humble.  
Adonijah – David’s son who tries to become king, actor needed who is young and bold.      
MINOR CHARACTERS these characters are important figures that only have a brief stay in the film.
Samuel – priest who anoints David king, actor needed who is older.
Ahimelech the priest – actor needed who is older.
The witch of Endor – actress of any type.
Mephibosheth – boy who is lame on his feet, actor needed who can portray this.
Uzzah – man who touched The Ark and died, actor of any type
Nabal – Abigail’s foolish husband, Actor needed who is of any type
Michal’s crying husband – man who follows behind Michal crying when David takes her from him, actor of any type
Rechab – man who murders the king
Baanah – man who helps murder the king
Uriah – Bathsheba’s husband, solider, actor needed who is young and warlike.  
Bathsheba – woman who has the affair with David, young beautiful actress needed.  

EXTRAS these characters are very important in terms of keeping fresh faces in the film, and delivering small, but still
very important lines.  These roles will be very good, for film experience, and if you don’t have a lot of time to devote to
the film over the summer. Once the major and minor characters are cast and the production schedule is finalized, there
will be dates for extra to participate in various activities, some more vigorous than other such a battle sequences or feast
and celebrations.  

Messengers – messengers needed to say one line or merely walk with a group of people, actors of any type needed.
Servants – used for back ground activities or serving character’s in various scenes, actors and actresses of any type.
Celebration extras – people who will celebrate victories, bringing of The Ark to Jerusalem, feast, etc, actor and
actresses of any type.
Battle extras – this will include the Philistines, David’s mighty men, Saul’s men.  Actors  who are fit and able to stimulate
fighting will be needed.  David’s mighty men, and Saul’s men have somewhat large roles as extras as silent memorable
faces; sometime with speaking roles.  
Priests- needed for various scenes, actors of any type.
